Practical Notes

Before you play.

When is the best time to play in KwaZulu-Natal?+

April to September. This is the dry, mild, low-humidity season on the warm coast. December to February is peak summer — playable, but hot and humid. We schedule morning tee times year-round and hold weather contingencies for every booking.

How close are the courses to King Shaka International?+

Zimbali and Mount Edgecombe are 10–15 minutes from the airport. Durban Country Club is 25–30 minutes. Prince's Grant is 35 minutes north. Cotswold Downs is around 55 minutes inland in the Midlands.

Are cart or caddie the norm?+

Most KZN courses permit walking with a caddie, which we arrange as standard. Zimbali and Cotswold Downs are cart-friendly given elevation changes. Durban Country Club is a classic walking round with a full caddie ledger.

What about wildlife on the courses?+

Mount Edgecombe has resident vervet monkeys and bushbuck. Prince's Grant has zebra, wildebeest and reedbuck. Zimbali is set in coastal forest with duiker and bushbuck. Part of what makes the KZN experience distinctive — and a caddie's local read invaluable.

Can you deliver rental clubs to my hotel?+

Yes. Standard delivery is to Umhlanga, Zimbali, uMhlanga Rocks and Ballito hotels the evening before your first round, and collection after your last.
